Strict new rules are being phased in for carbon in new and existing buildings in Canadian and US municipalities. Our guest presenter, Dylan Martell of Steven Winter Associates, is Passive House consultant for the 709-unit Sendero Verde affordable housing project in Harlem, New York. It was designed with building envelopes at least five times tighter and better insulated than typical structures, all heated and cooled by heat pumps.
Dylan talked about Sendero Verde and the recent regulatory changes in New York City, New York State and Massachusetts. Webinar host Bruce Nagy discussed how municipalities are approaching decarbonization and covered multi-unit projects in Canada and beyond.
