Embodied carbon is a critical consideration for addressing emissions from the production of building materials. Thus far, however, there has been limited information regarding embodied carbon available to streamline its consideration in decision making. For embodied carbon to be taken into consideration as part of Green Standards and Building Codes access to the embodied carbon of materials needs to be significantly improved. In this webinar, Chris Magwood from the Endeavor Centre and Builders for Climate Action presented top findings from the recently released NRCan Achieving Real Net-Zero Emission Homes report and provided information on the upcoming EMBARC project that is benchmarking embodied carbon emissions in low-rise housing across the GTHA.
